Warranty Summary

Midland Radio Corporation warrants this Midland FRS/GMRS transceiver for three years against defects in material or workmanship under normal use.

Basic Operation Summary:

  • Power ON/OFF and Volume: Rotate the POWER/VOLUME knob clockwise to turn on and adjust volume. Counter-clockwise to turn off.
  • Transmit a Call: Set radios to the same channel and privacy code. Hold PTT button and speak into microphone.
  • Receive a Call: Release PTT button to receive. RX icon appears when receiving.
  • Channel Selection: Press MENU button once, use â–²/â–¼ buttons to select channel, confirm with PTT or MENU.
  • NOAA Weather Scan: Press and hold MENU for 5 seconds to scan weather channels.
  • Monitor: Hold MONITOR button for 1 second to hear noise and adjust volume.
  • Scan: Quickly press SCAN button to scan channels for activity.

Troubleshooting and error codes

PROBLEM SOLUTION
No Power Check battery installation and/or replace batteries.
Cannot Receive Messages Confirm the radios have the same channel settings. Make sure that you are within range. Buildings may interfere. (See ABOUT RANGE on Page 7)
Radio is not responding to button presses Make sure key lock is not on (See KEYPAD LOCK on Page 9). Radio might need reset. Turn radio off then on.
Display is dim Recharge or replace batteries.
Charger not functioning Contacts on the back of the radio may require cleaning. Ensure outlet is functioning. Check battery pack installation.
