Warranty Summary

Dual Electronics Corp. warrants the TBX10A for one year against defects in material and workmanship from the original purchase date.

Basic Operation Summary:

  • Preparation: Disconnect negative battery terminal before installation. Choose a suitable mounting location, ensuring adequate space and avoiding areas with moisture or restricted airflow. Test amplifier functions before final mounting.
  • Connections: Connect power (+12V fused near battery), ground (GND to clean metal), remote turn-on (REM to head unit), and input signal (RCA or speaker wire).
  • Control Setup: Adjust crossover frequency (50Hz-250Hz) to blend with the sound system. Use phase control to optimize bass. Set input level to match head unit output and avoid distortion. Green LED indicates normal operation.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Problem Cause Action
Unit will not turn on (no power LED indicator) BAT+ wire not connected or incorrect voltage
REM wire not connected or incorrect voltage
GND wire not connected
Fuse(s) blown
Check connections for proper voltage (11~16VDC)
Check connection to ground
Replace fuse(s)
Unit has power - LED is green (but no sound) Volume turned all the way down
Speaker defective or damaged
Input signal not connected
Increase volume level at head unit
Check/replace speaker
Check high or low level inputs for proper connection
Unit blows fuse(s) Incorrect fuse rating
BAT+ wire touching chassis ground
Use fuse(s) with correct rating
Check for pinched wire
Engine noise Speaker defective or damaged
Bad ground connection
Signal ground loop or RFI (radio frequency interference)
Check/replace speaker
Make sure amplifier is grounded to clean bare metal
Re-route RCA cables from existing high current wiring
Distorted audio output Incorrect input signal type or input level too high Check connections and reduce/adjust input level
Low audio output Incorrect input signal type or input level too low Check connections and increase or adjust input level
Weak bass Low frequency output is out of phase Adjust phase control as needed
