Warranty Summary

Cuisinart® SS-700 is warranted to be free of defects for 3 years from the original purchase date under normal home use.

Set-Up & First Brew:

  • Unwrap cord and plug into grounded outlet.
  • Remove all packing materials.
  • Place a mug on the drip tray.
  • Remove, wash, and fill the water reservoir.
  • Return reservoir to unit.
  • Press power switch. Wait for 'NOT READY' then 'OPEN HEAD'.
  • Open and close brewing chamber. 'READY' will be displayed.
  • Press Brew to start cleansing cycle (no K-Cup). Dispose of hot water.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Problem Solution
Brewer does not have power.
  • Plug Brewer into an independent outlet.
  • Make sure the Brewer is securely plugged in.
  • Plug into a different outlet.
  • Reset your home's circuit breaker.
  • Confirm the power has been turned on and the LCD is illuminated.
Brewer will not brew.
  • Lift off the reservoir, then put it back into place (air bubble).
  • Turn off and unplug for 30 seconds, then power back on.
  • Make sure water reservoir is in place and perform Rinse cycle.
  • Ensure handle is down securely, LCD reads READY, buttons are illuminated.
  • Check water level and reservoir seating if ADD WATER is indicated.
  • Contact Customer Service if ADD WATER persists after refilling.
  • Exit needle may be clogged.
Chlorine or mineral taste in coffee.
  • Consider using bottled, filtered, or Cuisinart Charcoal Water Filter.
Doesn't brew a full cup.
  • Lift off the reservoir, then put it back into place (air bubble).
  • Turn off and unplug for 30 seconds, then power back on.
  • Exit needle may be clogged.
  • Clean K-Cup® holder brewing chamber.
  • Make sure water reservoir is in place and perform Rinse cycle.
  • De-scale the Brewer.
  • Contact Customer Service if issue persists after de-scaling twice.
The time is not displayed on the LCD control panel.
  • Set the clock.
  • Reset clock if power was interrupted.
Brewer shuts off, or turns on, automatically.
  • Check Auto Off and On/Off time features are not set to ON, reset if needed.
The blue light in the water reservoir is flashing.
  • Add water to reservoir.
Coffee is too weak or watery.
  • Reduce brew size for stronger coffee.
  • Try an Extra Bold K-Cup®.
