Warranty Summary
Cooling Operation (Cooling Only or Heat Pump): When the thermostat calls for cooling, the indoor blower motor and outdoor unit (compressor and fan) are activated. On heat pumps, the reversing valve is energized to switch to cooling mode.
Heating Operation (Electric Heat Only): When the thermostat calls for heat, the heat sequencer is energized, activating heating elements and the indoor blower motor after a time delay.
Heating Operation (Heat Pump): When the thermostat calls for heat, the indoor blower and outdoor unit are activated. If the room temperature continues to drop, supplemental electric heat may be engaged in stages via heat sequencers.
Emergency Heat (Heating Heat Pump): Emergency heat mode locks out the heat pump, and all heating is provided by electric heat. A jumper may be required on the thermostat sub-base for proper electric heat control in this mode.
