Basic Operation of the Zenza Bronica ETRS

  1. Loading the Battery: Ensure the camera is powered by inserting a 6-volt silver oxide or alkaline battery. Check the battery status via the LED indicator.
  2. Attaching/Removing Film Backs: The film back is interchangeable. Ensure the dark slide is removed before attaching the back. Load film into the film holder, draw out the leader, and wind the film until the first frame is ready.
  3. Attaching/Removing Lenses: The shutter must be cocked to exchange lenses. Align the red dots and twist to lock the lens in place.
  4. Setting Shutter Speed and Aperture: Adjust the shutter speed dial and aperture ring on the lens according to your exposure needs.
  5. Focusing: Use the focusing ring while observing the split-image or microprism in the viewfinder. The distance and depth of field scales on the lens also aid focusing.
  6. Taking a Picture: Depress the shutter release button smoothly. A red LED in the viewfinder confirms shutter closure.
  7. Film Advance: Rotate the film winding crank to advance the film and cock the shutter for the next shot.
  8. Unloading Film: After the last exposure, the crank will turn freely. Continue winding to take up the film and leader paper, then open the back to remove the film holder.
