To Service Personnel

1. Critical Components Information: Components with special characteristics are marked (A) and must be replaced with parts of equal specifications.

2. Leakage Current Measurement (120V Models Only): After servicing, verify insulation of exposed surfaces. Meter impedance: 1500 ohms shunted by 0.15μF. Leakage current must not exceed 0.5mA. Test with AC plug in both polarities.

WARNING: Laser Safety: Product contains a laser. Keep eyes and skin at least 30 cm away from the laser pick-up unit. Do not stare at the beam. Do not readjust or disassemble the laser pick-up unless specified. Hazardous radiation exposure can occur if procedures other than specified are used.

Laser Emitting Conditions: Laser emits for 5-10 sec. when the top cover is removed and power is ON to detect a disc. Do not service during this period. Laser stops emitting if no disc is detected or when a disc is loaded. Laser power level is factory set; do not adjust unless instructed.

Warning for power supply: Primary side carries live mains voltage even when the player is switched OFF. Service personnel must take precautions to avoid touching this area.

Note: DVD mechanism screws should not be touched, removed, or re-adjusted. Handle the DVD mechanism with care.
