Whirlpool offers a one-year full warranty, a second-year warranty on electronic control boards, and a second through fifth year warranty on the porcelain top.

Starting Your Dryer

  1. Clean lint screen before each load.
  2. Place laundry into dryer and shut door.
  3. Rotate dial to select Automatic or Manual Cycle, then press CONTROL ON. Preset settings and drying time will display.

Automatic Cycles

Select an Automatic Cycle. Adjust DRYNESS LEVEL to your preference. The time displayed is estimated and adjusts automatically.

Manual Cycles

Select a Manual Cycle. Adjust DRYING TIME using MORE TIME or LESS TIME buttons. Adjust TEMPERATURE. Dryness Level is not indicated.

Stopping Your Dryer

Press PAUSE/CANCEL twice or open the door.

Pausing or Restarting

Pause by opening the door or pressing PAUSE/CANCEL once. Restart by closing the door and pressing HOLD TO START. Dryer continues if restarted within 5 minutes.

Drying Tips

  • Follow care labels.
  • Remove loads promptly to reduce wrinkling.
  • Avoid drying heavy work clothes with lighter fabrics.
  • Rearrange bulky items halfway through the cycle.

Dryer Operation
Dryer will not run
  • Check household fuses or circuit breakers (typically 2 for a dryer).
  • Ensure correct 240-volt power supply.
  • Use a time-delay fuse.
  • Ensure dryer door is firmly closed.
  • Press and hold the Start button for 2-5 seconds for large loads.
No heat
  • Check household fuses or circuit breakers.
  • Ensure correct 240-volt power supply.
Unusual sounds
  • Possible thumping after a period of non-use.
  • Check for coins, buttons, or paper clips in the drum.
  • Ensure dryer is level and legs are installed properly.
  • Separate knotted or balled-up clothing.
Dryer displaying code message
  • "PF" (power failure): Press and hold START to restart.
  • "E" Variable (E1, E2, E3) service codes: Call for service.
Dryer Results
Clothes are not drying satisfactorily, drying times are too long, or load is too hot
  • Clean lint screen.
  • Ensure proper venting (heavy metal vent, correct length, no kinks, 4" diameter).
  • Use only one fabric softener sheet.
  • Ensure dryer is level and not in a closet without ventilation.
  • Check if an air dry cycle was selected.
  • Avoid overloading; separate large loads.
  • Ensure automatic cycle is ending early by checking sensor strip contact and adjusting dryness level.
Lint on load
  • Lint screen clogged; check for air movement.
Stains on load or drum
  • Use fabric softener sheets at the beginning of the cycle.
  • Drum stains may be caused by dye (e.g., blue jeans) and will not transfer.
Loads are wrinkled
  • Remove load promptly at the end of the cycle.
  • Avoid overloading; separate loads.
Odors
  • Ventilate area if painting/staining.
  • New electric heating element may have an odor on first use.
