Switching On: Ensure the mains plug is connected. Press the power button to turn the TV on. The standby LED will light up white. If no picture appears, press the power button on the remote. To put the TV into standby, press the power button on the remote. The TV will enter standby mode.
Energy Saving: For maximum energy saving, turn off and unplug the TV from the mains supply. Reducing screen brightness also saves energy.
Using the Remote Control: Use the numbered buttons to select channels. Use P+/P- for channel selection. Use Volume +/- to adjust volume. The MENU button accesses various settings. OK confirms selections. Navigation buttons (Up, Down, Left, Right) move through menus.
Connecting External Equipment: Turn off the TV and unplug before connecting. Connect devices like DVD players, media recorders, computers, or USB drives to the appropriate ports (SCART, HDMI, VGA, USB). Use the SOURCE button to select the desired input.
Tuning: Use Auto Tuning to search for all available channels. Manual Tuning can be used for specific stations. The initial setup will guide you through language and country selection, followed by channel scanning.

| Why is the VCR/DVD picture in black and white? | Check that the correct EXT 1 input setting has been chosen or AV. |
| Why is there a good video picture but no sound? | Check all lead connections. No sound or unacceptable format sound may be received. Check the volume has not been turned down or that sound mute has not been selected. |
| Why doesn't the remote control work? | Check the batteries aren't dead or inserted incorrectly. |
| Why don't the controls on the top of the television work? | Check that CHILD LOCK is not selected. |
| Why is the sound only coming from one speaker when stereo sound is selected? | Check that the balance in the SOUND menu hasn't been set to one side. |
| Why are there problems with analogue text service? | Good performance of the analogue text depends on a good strong broadcast signal. This normally requires a roof or loft aerial. If the text is unreadable or garbled, check the aerial. Go to the main index page of the analogue text service and look for the User Guide. |
