The MeP-h1 is Toshiba's new high-performance configurable processor core, achieving a 1GHz clock speed. It is based on the Media embedded Processor (MeP) architecture, offering designers flexibility to customize processor configurations and add custom instructions. Performance is enhanced by a nine-stage pipeline and a reorder buffer circuit. The core is manufactured using 65nm process technology and is designed with RTL, allowing manufacturing with other process technologies like 90nm. The MeP architecture is suitable for digital media products like digital TVs and DVD recorders, enabling high-speed media processing, customizable configurations, and hardware extensibility.
