Getting Started

  • Inserting Batteries: Open the compartment, insert 2 AAA batteries, and close the cover.
  • Finding your viewing channel: Turn on the player and TV, select the correct video input channel.
  • Setting up Progressive Scan: For progressive scan TVs, connect via Y, PB, PR, and select 'P-Scan' in the video output settings.
  • Setting the language: Use the SETUP menu to choose OSD language, subtitle, audio, and DVD menu languages.

Playback from Disc

  • Playable discs: Supports DVD Video, DVD±R/RW, CD-R/RW, Audio CDs. Some discs may be incompatible.
  • Starting disc playback: Turn on the player, open tray, load disc, close tray, press PLAY/PAUSE.
  • Basic playback control: Use PLAY/PAUSE, STOP, PREV/NEXT, and number buttons for navigation.
  • Playback Features: Includes slow motion, fast forward/reverse, repeat functions, and disc menu access.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Problem Solution
No power - Check AC power cord connection.
- Press I/ON/STANDBY to turn on.
No picture - Check TV's Video In channel.
- Check if TV is switched on.
- For progressive scan issues, see pages 11-12 or deactivate P-Scan.
Distorted picture - May be caused by View Mode setting. Set to 'Original'.
Picture clipped - Connect DVD Player directly to TV.
- Ensure disc compatibility.
- Match player and TV settings.
Completely distorted picture or black/white picture with DVD. - Make sure disc is compatible with the DVD player.
No sound / distorted sound - Adjust volume.
- Check speaker connections.
No audio at digital output - Check digital connections.
- Ensure receiver decodes MPEG-2/DTS or set to PCM.
- Match audio format to receiver capabilities.
No sound and picture - Check cable connection to the correct device.
Disc cannot be played - DVD±R/RW must be finalized and in video mode format.
- Ensure disc label is facing up.
- Try another disc.
- Check region code.
Picture freezes momentarily during playback - Clean disc for fingerprints/scratches.
No return to start-up screen when disc is removed - Reset unit by switching off and on.
The player does not respond to the Remote Control - Aim Remote Control at the sensor.
- Reduce distance.
- Replace or re-insert batteries.
- Unplug AC cord for 5-10 seconds to reset.
Buttons do not work - Operations may not be permitted by the disc.
- Clean lens with a cleaning CD/DVD.
- Press STOP twice before selecting setup menu.
- Some menu items may not be selectable depending on disc.
- Ensure Video Out is set to P-Scan/Component.
