Power on the camera using the power button. AC power can be connected at the back. The camera uses BP-U35 (150 mins) or BP-U100 (400 mins) batteries. High frame rates reduce battery life. Charge batteries overnight.
The camera comes with two 160 GB CF Express A cards. Connect the card reader to your computer to back up .MXF video files from the XDROOT/Clip folder. Use the XAVC I codec for better playback unless extra recording time is needed. XAVC L offers longer recording times.
The included lens is a Sony FE 24-105mm F4 G OSS Lens. The zoom is manual; zoom rockers on the camera will not work with this lens. It is not a parfocal lens, so focus may change when zooming. Use autofocus when zooming or tracking. The lens has Optical SteadyShot stabilization; turn it off when the camera is on a tripod.
The viewfinder is a 720p touch screen for some functions. Use it sparingly for touch operations. Avoid using it to scroll through menus. Use it for autofocus. Clean the screen with a microfiber cloth.
