Starting the Navigation Software

1. Switch on the device using the POWER switch. The map will be displayed, showing your current position if a GPS signal is available.

2. Tap anywhere on the map to open the MENU. From here, you can access all program functions.

Menu Options

  • New destination: Start planning a new route.
  • Search nearby: Find points of interest close to your current location.
  • Route: Manage and view existing routes.
  • Muting: Adjust audio settings.
  • Settings: Configure various system and map settings.

Map Scrolling Mode

Touch the map to enter map scrolling mode. Drag the screen to move the map. Use +/- to adjust the scale. Tap the cross-hair on a desired point to access the map scrolling mode menu, where you can set it as a destination.

System Settings Overview

Access various settings via the MENU > Settings. Options include Volume, Select map, Map information, Route information, Signpost information, Light sensor, Graphical look, Touch screen calibration, Auto mode, Routing options, and Itinerary.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Problem Solution
The operation icons on the display do not function. An operation may take time while a map is displayed.
The unit does not turn on.
  • Check that the POWER switch is ON.
  • Charge the built-in battery.
  • Check that the unit is securely attached to the cradle.
The built-in battery cannot be charged.
  • Check that the POWER switch is ON.
  • If using an AC adapter, disconnect and reconnect it.
  • Ensure the unit is within the operating temperature range (5–45 °C).
GPS signal cannot be received.
  • Move to an area with clear signal reception.
  • Check GPS information. Consider the optional External GPS Antenna VCA-41 if you have a heated or heat reflective windshield.
  • Ensure the unit is not obstructed by the car body or window film.
The car position on the map does not match the current road. The GPS satellite signal error margin may be a few hundred meters.
Voice guidance cannot be heard.
  • Raise the volume in the setting menu.
  • Note: Maximum volume is 70% when powered by the built-in battery.
The LCD is not displayed normally.
  • In high temperatures, the LCD may darken. In low temperatures, afterimage may occur. These are not malfunctions.
  • The auto dimmer function may be activated if the sensor is covered.
