Getting Started

  • Charging and Installing the Battery Pack: Before use, charge the supplied NP-66 battery pack using the AC-V35/V35A AC power adaptor. Ensure the battery is fully discharged before recharging to maintain capacity.
  • Inserting a Cassette: Use Hi8 video cassettes. Press the EJECT knob, insert the tape with the window facing out, and close the cassette holder.
  • Adjusting the Viewfinder Lens: Focus the viewfinder by adjusting the lever until indicators are sharp. Picture quality (hue, color, brightness) can also be adjusted with small screws.

Basic Operations

  • Camera Recording: Remove lens cap, ensure AUTO LOCK cover is closed. Slide POWER switch to CAMERA, turn STANDBY up, then press START/STOP to begin recording. Press START/STOP again to pause. Turn STANDBY down and slide POWER switch to OFF to finish.
  • Using the Zoom Feature: Use the T side for telephoto (closer subject) and W side for wide-angle (farther subject). Press the power zoom button firmly for high-speed zoom, softly for slow zoom.
