Troubleshooting and error codes

Issue Cause Solution
Screen issue: The power LED is off. The screen will not switch on. The power cable is not connected properly. Check that the power cable is connected properly.
Screen issue: Message 'Check the cable connection and the settings of the source device.' appears. The cable is not properly connected to the product. Check that the cable is properly connected to the product.
Screen issue: Not Optimum Mode is displayed. The signal from the graphics card exceeds the maximum resolution or frequency for the product. Change the maximum resolution and frequency to suit the product performance, referring to Standard Signal Mode Table (P.38).
Screen issue: The images on the screen look distorted. Check the cable connection to the product. Check the cable connection to the product.
Screen issue: The screen is not clear. The screen is blurry. Incorrect accessories or settings. Remove any accessories (video extension cable, etc.) and try again. Set the resolution and frequency to the recommended level.
Screen issue: The screen appears unstable and shaky. There are shadows or ghost images left on the screen. Incorrect resolution, frequency, or response time settings. Check that the resolution and frequency for the PC are within the range of resolution and frequency compatible with the product. Change the settings, referring to Standard Signal Mode Table (P.38) and the Information menu. Change the Response Time in the Display OSD to Faster or Standard.
Screen issue: The screen is too bright. The screen is too dark. Incorrect brightness or contrast settings. Adjust Brightness and Contrast.
Screen issue: Screen colour is inconsistent. Incorrect color settings. Change the Color settings.
Screen issue: The colours on the screen have a shadow and are distorted. Incorrect color settings. Change the Color settings.
Screen issue: White does not really look white. Incorrect color settings. Change the Color settings.
Screen issue: There is no image on the screen and the power LED blinks every 0.5 to 1 second. Cable connection issue or power-saving mode. Check the cable connection between the product and PC, and ensure the connectors are locked. The product is operating in power-saving mode. Press any key on the keyboard or move the mouse to return to normal operating mode.
Screen issue: Text is blurry. Incorrect ClearType settings. Go to Control Panel → Fonts → Adjust ClearType text and change Turn on ClearType.
Screen issue: Video playback is choppy. Video player optimization or PC resource limitations. Try playing the file on another video player.
Sound issue: There is no sound. Headphone/earphone issue, volume setting, or mute. Re-check the condition of the connected headphone or earphone and/or adjust the volume. Check the volume. Check whether the volume of the product or the source device is set to mute.
Sound issue: The volume is too low. Volume not at maximum or PC sound settings. Adjust the volume. If the volume is still low, adjust the volume on your PC sound card or software programme.
Sound issue: Video is available but there is no sound. HDMI-DVI cable used for connection. Connect the device using an HDMI cable.
Source device issue: A beeping sound is heard when my PC is booting. PC issue. Have your PC serviced.
Source device issue: While in power saving mode, the computer or monitor screen turns on although there is no keyboard or mouse input. Wake On Lan (WOL) feature is enabled. Navigate to Control Panel → Network and Internet → Network Properties (Configuration), and set the Wake On Lan (WOL)-related option to "Do not use."
