Warranty Information

Samsung offers a limited warranty of 1 year for parts and labor, and 5 years for glass cooktop and radiant heating parts.

Surface Cooking:

  • Before cooking: Do not use the glass surface as a cutting board, do not store meltable items on it, turn on units only after placing cookware.
  • During cooking: Avoid aluminum foil or plastic items on the cooktop, ensure the correct unit is on, never cook directly on glass, center pans, do not leave unattended on high heat, turn off before removing cookware, do not cover food with plastic wrap.
  • After cooking: Do not touch until cooled, clean spills immediately, be cautious with cabinet storage above the cooktop.
  • Radiant elements cycle on/off to maintain heat.
  • Control knobs: Push and turn to desired setting. Single, dual, and triple element knobs available.
  • Recommended settings table provides guidelines for various cooking methods (High, Medium High, Medium, Medium Low, Low).

Cookware:

  • Use flat-bottomed, straight-sided cookware that fits the element size.
  • Materials like aluminum, copper, stainless steel, cast iron, enamelware, and glass have different heat conducting properties.

Smart Connect Feature:

  • Syncs cooktop with SmartThings app for monitoring. Requires app download and pairing.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Troubleshooting
Problem - Cooktop needs cooling. Apply ceramic cooktop cleaner, rub with a cleaning pad. Repeat if necessary. Polish surface.
Burned-on residue - Cooktop needs cooling. Apply ceramic cooktop cleaner, rub with a cleaning pad. Repeat if necessary. Polish surface.
Heavy, burned-on residue - Cooktop needs cooling. Use a single-edge razor scraper at a 45° angle. Apply ceramic cooktop cleaner, rub with a cleaning pad. Polish surface.
Metal marks and scratches - Sliding pots/pans. Apply ceramic cooktop cleaner and pad.
Black discoloration from aluminum/copper overlay - Pans boiled dry. Remove immediately while hot.
Sugary spills or melted plastic - Spills can cause pitting. Clean spill while hot. Use a new, sharp scraper. Do not use dull blades. If pitting occurs, glass needs replacement.
Surface units not maintaining heat or cooking slowly. - Pot not suitable for cooktop. Use flat-bottomed pots matching burner size.
- Power (voltage) is low in some areas. Place a lid on the pot until desired heat is reached.
Surface units not turning on. - House fuse blown or circuit breaker tripped. Replace fuse or reset circuit breaker.
- Cooktop controls incorrectly set. Verify correct control knob is used for the desired burner.
Cooktop surface discoloration. - Spills not cleaned. Refer to cleaning section.
- Surface is hot and appears light-colored. This is normal when hot; it will disappear when the glass cools.
Flickering surface unit (on/off frequently). - The unit cycles to maintain set power. This is normal. It occurs if cookware is too small or the bottom is not flat. Use cooktop normally.
Darkened burner when lower setting selected. - Always on and hot. This is normal.
Scratches or abrasions on the cooktop surface. - Cooktop not cleaned properly. Use a special ceramic cooktop cleaner. Do not use harsh chemicals.
- Rough-bottomed pots in contact with cooktop. Follow recommended cleaning procedures. Ensure pot bottoms are clean and smooth.
- Foreign substances (salt, sand) between pot and cooktop. Choose smooth-bottomed cookware.
- Sliding metal pans across the cooktop. Avoid sliding pots.
