Getting started

This section covers initial setup and basic operations.

Set up your device

• Charge the battery: Before first use, fully charge the device.
• Install SIM/microSD card tray: Insert SIM and optional microSD cards.

Start using your device

• Turn on your device: Press and hold the Side button.
• Use the Setup Wizard: Follow prompts for language, Wi-Fi, accounts, and settings.
• Bring data from an old device: Use Smart Switch to transfer data.
• Lock or unlock your device: Use screen lock features (default: auto-lock when screen times out).
• Side button settings: Customize shortcuts for double-pressing the Side button.
• Accounts: Set up Google and Samsung accounts for cloud storage, apps, and exclusive content.
• Set up voicemail: Configure voicemail through the Phone app.

Navigation

• Tap: Lightly touch items to select or launch. Double-tap to zoom.
• Swipe: Lightly drag across the screen to unlock, scroll, or navigate.
• Drag and drop: Touch and hold an item to move it.
• Zoom in and out: Use two fingers apart or together on the screen.
• Touch and hold: Activate items or display pop-up menus.
• Navigation bar: Use buttons or full-screen gestures for navigation.
• Customize your home screen: Add app icons, wallpapers, themes, widgets, and adjust screen settings.
• Easy mode: Use a simpler layout with larger text and icons.
• Status bar: Displays device information and notification alerts.
• Notification panel: Quick access to notifications and settings.
