Warranty Information

The warranty covers the camera for 12 months and rechargeable batteries for 6 months.

  • Turning the Camera On/Off: Slide the On/Off slider upward to turn on, downward to turn off.
  • Display On/Off: Press the LCD button to toggle display indications or turn the display off/on.
  • Taking Photos: Ensure camera is on and in 'Picture taking' mode. Use the display to frame the shot and press the Shutter button.
  • Viewing Photos: Set camera to 'Playback' mode using the Mode button. The last taken photo is displayed.
  • Deleting Photos: In 'Playback' mode, press Menu, select 'Delete' or 'Delete All', press Select to confirm 'YES' or 'NO', then press Menu to confirm.
  • Transferring Photos to PC: Ensure software is installed. Connect camera to PC via USB and docking base. Follow on-screen prompts to transfer images.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Problem Possible cause / Solution
No photo is taken while the Shutter button is pressed all the way down Battery exhausted: Recharge battery.
Memory full: Transfer or delete photos.
Camera connected to PC's USB port: Disconnect camera.
Poor light conditions: Improve lighting.
Camera turned off automatically: Turn camera on.
Camera not turned on: Turn on camera.
No memory space in internal memory or SD card: Delete photos or insert new SD card.
No reaction to controls Battery exhausted: Recharge battery.
File transfer not possible USB cable not properly connected: Connect properly.
USB driver not installed: Install USB driver and 'Philips Photo Manager'.
Not all images can be transferred to the PC PC RAM may not have sufficient storage space: Close programs, transfer in batches.
Camera connected to PC but the Philips PocketCam driver says: ‘Device not ready’. Check camera power is on. If not, turn it on and reconnect.
Photo is blurred or dark Camera or object moving: Hold camera firmly.
Subject too close: Move away.
Lens is dirty: Clean lens with soft cloth.
Flash does not work Flash not finished charging: Wait for green Charge LED.
Flash not turned on: Set Flash to 'Auto' or 'On'.
Camera will not focus Subject not in centre of viewfinder or display: Move subject to centre.
PC does not recognize camera USB connection not properly made: Connect properly.
Interference from other USB devices: Disconnect other devices.
Camera software and drivers not installed: Install them.
Camera malfunctions during use Electrostatic discharge: Turn camera off/on. If connected to PC, disconnect, turn off/on.
Display does not light up LCD was turned off: Press LCD button to turn on display.
Display shows ‘E2’ when SD memory card is inserted Incompatible file system: Format SD card.
