Your phone

Getting started

  • Connect the base station.
  • Install rechargeable batteries.
  • Place the handset on the charging cradle and charge for at least 24 hours.
  • Configure your phone by selecting the country code.
  • Register your handset to the base station.

Using your phone

  • Make calls using predialling, direct dialling, or from the call log/phonebook/redial list.
  • Answer and end calls.
  • Use recall function for second calls.
  • Use intercom to make internal calls, transfer external calls, or make conference calls.
  • Find a misplaced handset using the paging function.

Use more of your phone

  • Manage phonebook and call log entries.
  • Utilize the answering machine features (turn on/off, set answer delay, record/play/delete messages, screen calls, remote access).
  • Change PIN settings and program/access voice mailbox.
  • Restore phone to default settings.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Problem Possible Solution
Connection
The handset does not switch on!
  • Charge the battery.
  • Check the charger connections.
  • Use only SUPPLIED RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES.
The phone does not work at all.
  • Make sure adaptor and phone cord are connected properly.
  • Check batteries are fully charged and installed properly.
  • This phone does not work during power failure.
Communication is lost during a call!
  • Charge the SUPPLIED RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES.
  • Move closer to the base station.
Poor audio quality
  • Move closer to the base station.
  • Move base station at least one metre away from electrical appliances.
No dialling tone
  • Check the connections.
  • Reset the phone: unplug and plug back in the mains.
The Š is blinking.
  • Move closer to the base station.
  • Check battery level.
  • Register the handset to the base station.
The š appears.
  • Replace the batteries with new ones (use only rechargeable batteries).
Set-up
Caller ID does not work properly.
  • Check with your local phone company that CID service is subscribed to.
  • Let the phone ring at least once before answering.
The Call Waiting call cannot be answered.
  • Check with your local phone company and select the correct recall duration.
The handset displays nothing, but only the Š is blinking.
  • Try again by disconnecting and connecting the base station power supply and follow the procedure to register a handset (see Section 3.5).
  • Remove and place back the handset batteries.
Sound
Handset does not ring!
  • Increase the volume.
  • Make sure adaptor and phone cord are connected properly.
  • Move handset closer to the base unit.
  • Make sure handset ringer is turned on.
Caller does not hear me!
  • Microphone may be muted: During a call, press ţ.
Noise interference on your radio or television
  • Move the power adaptor or base station as far away as possible.
Product behaviour
Caller Line Identification (CLI) service does not work
  • Check your subscription with your network operator.
A phonebook entry cannot be stored
  • Delete an entry to free memory.
The handset is unable to register
  • Make sure Š has been pressed for three seconds.
  • Each base can only register up to four handsets.
  • Each handset can only be registered to one base.
I forget my PIN
  • Press Ť
  • Press 0
  • Press ##**793
  • Your phone will reset to its default settings and you can get the default PIN of 0000. Phonebook records will not be erased.
Answering Machine
The answering machine does not record calls.
  • Make sure answering machine is connected to the power adaptor, and the power adaptor is plugged into mains supply which is switched on.
  • Check if the answering machine memory is full. If so, delete some or all messages.
  • Try switching off the power at the main socket, and then turn it on again after 1 minute.
Unable to perform remote operation
  • Make sure you entered the correct remote access code.
  • Use a touch-tone phone.
