Basic Operation

Power ON and OFF Modes

The LCD monitor power indicator will turn green while powered on and will turn red or amber while powered off.

NOTE: The Main Power Switch must be in the ON position in order to power up the monitor using the remote control or the Power Button on the front of the LCD.

Using Power Management

The LCD monitor follows the VESA approved DPM Power Management function. This function automatically reduces power consumption when the display is not in use.

Selecting a video source

Use the input button to set the desired video source.

Picture Aspect

Select the desired picture aspect ratio from options like FULL, NORMAL, WIDE, and ZOOM.

Information OSD

Press the DISPLAY button on the remote to view information such as Monitor ID, Input Source, and Picture Size.

Picture Mode

Select from various picture modes like HIGHBRIGHT, STANDARD, sRGB, CINEMA, AMBIENT1, and AMBIENT2 to optimize image quality.

AMBIENT Mode

The monitor automatically adjusts brightness based on ambient light. AUTO BRIGHTNESS is disabled when AMBIENT1 or AMBIENT2 is selected.

OSD (On-Screen-Display) Controls

Use the remote control or the control panel buttons to navigate menus and adjust settings.

PICTURE Menu

Adjust settings like BRIGHTNESS, CONTRAST, SHARPNESS, BLACK LEVEL, TINT, COLOR, COLOR TEMPERATURE, COLOR CONTROL, GAMMA SELECTION, MOVIE SETTINGS, PICTURE MODE, and PICTURE RESET.

ADJUST Menu

Access settings like AUTO SETUP, AUTO ADJUST, H POSITION, V POSITION, CLOCK, CLOCK PHASE, and Gain/Offset.

TERMINAL SETTING

Configure settings for DVI MODE, BNC MODE, SCART MODE, HDMI SIGNAL, SCAN CONVERSION, COLOR SYSTEM, and SCAN MODE.

ADVANCED OPTION

Options include ADVANCED OPTION RESET and FACTORY RESET.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Issue Possible Cause Solution
No picture Signal cable not connected properly. Connect signal cable completely.
Display card not seated properly. Ensure display card is fully seated.
Power switches off. Turn on front power switch and computer power switch.
Unsupported mode selected. Check and select a supported mode.
Compatibility or recommended settings issue. Check monitor and display card compatibility and settings.
Bent or pushed-in pins on signal cable connector. Check signal cable connector pins.
Power Button does not respond Monitor needs to be reset. Unplug the monitor power cord to reset.
Image persistence Constant images displayed for long periods. Turn off the monitor for as long as the image was displayed. Use Screen Saver and Schedule Settings.
Image is unstable, unfocused or swimming Signal cable not attached properly. Ensure signal cable is completely attached.
Fine adjustment needed. Use OSD Image Adjust controls for focus and adjustment.
Display mode changed. Re-adjust OSD Image Adjust settings.
Compatibility or recommended signal timings issue. Check compatibility and signal timings.
Non-interlace or 60Hz refresh rate needed. Change video mode to non-interlace and use 60Hz refresh rate.
Image of component signal is greenish Incorrect input selected. Check if DVD/HD input connector is selected.
LED on monitor is not lit Power switch off or cord not connected. Ensure Power Switch is ON and power cord is connected.
Computer in power-saving mode. Wake the computer from power-saving mode.
RED LED on monitor is blinking Internal failure. Contact authorized NEC service facility.
Overheating. Turn off the monitor until it cools down.
Display image is not sized properly Coarse adjustment needed. Use OSD Image Adjust controls for coarse adjustment.
Unsupported mode selected. Check and select a supported mode.
Selected resolution is not displayed properly Incorrect resolution selected. Use OSD Display Mode to confirm and select appropriate resolution.
No Sound Audio cable not connected. Check audio cable connection.
Mute activated. Check if mute is activated.
Volume set to minimum. Check if volume is set to minimum.
Remote Control is not available Batteries status. Check remote control batteries status.
Batteries inserted incorrectly. Check battery insertion.
Remote not pointing at sensor. Ensure remote points at monitor sensor.
Remote Control Mode status. Check Remote Control Mode status.
Signal interference. Avoid direct sunlight or strong illumination on the sensor. Ensure no object is obstructing the path.
"SCHEDULE"/"OFF TIMER" function is not working properly "SCHEDULE" disabled when "OFF TIMER" is set. Ensure "SCHEDULE" is enabled if "OFF TIMER" is not used.
"OFF TIMER" resets on power interruption. Note that "OFF TIMER" may reset if power is interrupted.
Snowy Picture, Poor Sound in TV Antenna/cable connection. Check antenna/cable connection. Use a new cable if necessary.
Interference in TV Components not shielded. Check components for shielding and move away from monitor if necessary.
RS-232C or LAN control is not available Cable connection. Check RS-232C or LAN cable connection.
"CONTROL" setting incorrect. Check "CONTROL" setting in "EXTERNAL CONTROL".
