Warranty Information

Motorola branded products have a 1-year warranty for consumer products and 90 days for accessories.

Basic Operation

  • Making Calls: Press the call button, then dial the number.
  • Answering Calls: Press the call button when the phone rings.
  • Ending Calls: Press the end call button or place the handset on the base.
  • Volume Control: Use the up/down buttons during a call to adjust earpiece volume or ringer volume.
  • Hands-free: Press the hands-free button twice to make or answer calls using the speakerphone.
  • Intercom: Use the *Int button to make internal calls between registered handsets.
  • Phonebook: Store up to 50 names and numbers for quick dialing.
  • Call Block: Block unwanted calls by type or by number.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Problem Possible Cause Solution
No dial tone Incorrect line cord used. Use only the supplied telephone line cord.
No dial tone Telephone line cord not connected properly. Check that the telephone line cord is connected properly.
No dial tone Mains power not connected or switched on. Check that the mains power is connected properly and switched on.
No display Batteries not inserted correctly or not fully charged. Check that the batteries are inserted correctly and fully charged. Use only approved rechargeable batteries.
No display Handset is not switched on. Press and hold the power button to switch on the handset.
No display Base needs resetting. Reset the base by removing batteries and disconnecting mains power. Wait 15 seconds before reconnecting. Allow one minute for synchronization.
icon flashes Handset is out of range. Move closer to the base.
icon flashes Handset is not registered to the base. Make sure the handset is registered to the base.
icon flashes Mains power not connected or switched on. Check that the mains power is connected properly and switched on.
Keypad does not seem to work Keypad lock is on. Unlock the keypad by pressing and holding '0'.
icon is not scrolling during charge Handset not aligned correctly on the base. Adjust the handset slightly on the base.
icon is not scrolling during charge Charging contacts are dirty. Clean the charging contacts with a cloth moistened with alcohol.
icon is not scrolling during charge Mains power not connected or switched on. Check that the mains power is connected properly and switched on.
No Caller ID Caller ID service not subscribed. Check your subscription with your network operator.
No Caller ID Caller has withheld their number. The caller may have withheld their number.
No Caller ID Incorrect name/number stored in phonebook. Check that you have the correct name/number stored, with the full area code.
Cannot register a handset to the base Maximum number of handsets already registered. You must de-register a handset to register a new one (max 4).
Cannot register a handset to the base Incorrect PIN code entered. Check that you have entered the correct PIN code (default = 0000).
Cannot register a handset to the base Interference from other electrical equipment. Ensure you are at least one metre away from other electrical equipment.
Handset does not ring Ringer volume set to Off. Adjust the handset ringer volume.
Handset does not ring Do Not Disturb is turned on. Turn off Do Not Disturb.
Noise interference Proximity to electrical appliances. Place your E2 at least one metre away from electrical appliances or metal obstructions.
