Microwave Oven Operation Summary

Before First Use: Allow the appliance to stand for 2 hours at room temperature. Check for damage, clean the oven compartment and accessories. Remove all packaging materials. Do not remove the cover from the microwave outlet or the film on the inside of the door. Stick the short instructions to the frame behind the door, ensuring vents are not blocked.

Installation: Ensure adequate ventilation to the front of the appliance. Maintain a minimum distance of 2.5 mm at the sides and 4 mm at the top from surrounding furniture. The appliance is designed for a tall unit with a minimum installation height of 85 cm. Ensure the mains connection data matches the supply. Use only original Miele accessories and connect directly to the power supply using the original cable.

Safety Precautions: Always ensure food is cooked thoroughly. Be careful with liquids to avoid boiling delay. Do not use the microwave for drying items that could ignite easily. Never use the appliance if damaged. Children should be supervised. Do not use inappropriate containers.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Problem Cause and remedy
A programme will not start. Check: appliance door closed, system lock activated, "door" message displayed, appliance plugged in and switched on, mains fuse tripped.
A noise can be heard after a cooking programme. The cooling fan continues to run; this is not a fault and will switch off automatically.
The display does not light up. It may be between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. and night time switch-off is activated. Deactivate night time switch-off.
The turntable does not turn smoothly. Check if the area underneath the turntable or surfaces between the turntable and roller ring are dirty. Clean these areas.
Food is not adequately defrosted, heated or cooked at the end of the selected cooking duration. Duration or power level insufficient. Check power level and duration settings. Ensure programme was not interrupted.
The microwave function is working but not the oven lighting. The lamp is faulty. Operate as normal but without lighting. Contact Miele Customer Service for replacement.
Strange noises are heard when the microwave oven is being used. Food covered with aluminium foil, or sparks from crockery with metallic finish. Remove foil and observe container guidelines.
The time of day in the display is not accurate. Power cut may have reset time to 12:00. Reset the correct time of day.
Food cools down too quickly. Food cooks from outside in. Select a lower power level and longer duration for different densities, and allow standing time.
The microwave oven switches itself off during a cooking, reheating or defrosting programme. Possible insufficient air circulation (check inlet/outlet) or overheating. Allow to cool down before continuing. Contact Miele Service if it switches off repeatedly.
