This manual provides instructions for the Makita VC4210M wet and dry vacuum cleaner.

Before Use:

  • Read the entire operating instructions.
  • Unpack accessories (A1).
  • Install filter bag (A2) or disposal bag (A3).
  • Connect hose and operate (A4).
  • Install accessories (A5).
  • Mount adapter plate (A6) and trolley handle (A7) if applicable.

Operation:

  • Connect power (C1).
  • Start the machine using the switch (0, I, AUTO settings).
  • AutoClean system for filter cleaning (B2).
  • Flow rate warning system (B1).
  • Auto-On/Off socket for power tools (3.2).

After Use:

  • Clean the machine and empty the container.
  • Disconnect power.
  • Store properly.

Maintenance:

  • Regular servicing and inspection are required.
  • Specific maintenance tasks include filter replacement (D1, D2, D3), cleaning the cooling air diffuser (D4), and cleaning gaskets/floater (D5).

Troubleshooting and error codes

SymptomPossible CauseRemedy
Machine does not start No power supply Check power cord and outlet.
Reduced suction power Container or filter bag is full. Empty container or replace filter bag.
Air flow is reduced in suction hose, tube/nozzle, filter. Check and clean hose, tube, nozzle, and filter.
Cooling air filter is clogged. Clean the cooling air filter.
Machine stops Overload protection activated. Allow machine to cool down.
Water level limit reached (during wet pick-up). Switch off, disconnect, and empty container.
Foam appears Water level limit system needs cleaning. Clean the water level limiting device.
Antistatic effect not working Antistatic connection is not maintained. Ensure antistatic connection is kept when inserting disposal bag.
