Do not force the tool, use the right tool, dress properly, wear safety glasses, and do not abuse the cord. Secure your work, don't overreach, and maintain tools with care. Disconnect tools when not in use, remove adjusting keys, and avoid unintentional starting. Use outdoor extension cords when applicable and stay alert. Check for damaged parts and guard against electric shock. Verify voltage matches the tool's rating.
Operation: Install bits carefully, ensuring they are sharp and undamaged. Adjust cutting depth using the lock lever and stopper block. For routing, switch the tool ON and lower the router firmly against the work surface. For edge routing, ensure the workpiece surface is on the left of the bit's feed direction to prevent kickback. Use accessories like the straight guide, trimmer guide, and templet guide as needed for specific tasks. Always switch off and wait for the bit to stop completely before removing the router from the workpiece. Be cautious of the hot bit after operation.
Maintenance: Regularly check and replace carbon brushes when worn down to approximately 6 mm (1/4"). Ensure brushes are clean and slip freely. Use only Makita carbon brushes. For any other maintenance, consult an Authorized Makita Service Center.
