Warranty Information

LG provides a limited warranty for parts and labor for the freezer, sealed system, and compressor.

  • Before Use: Clean appliance, ventilate interior, connect power, and wait 2-3 hours for cooling.
  • Control Panel: Features Vacation mode (energy saving), Freezer temperature adjustment (-23°C to -15°C), and Express Freeze (faster ice making and freezing).
  • Sabbath Mode: For Jewish Sabbath/holidays, disables alarms and functions.
  • Storing Food: Short trips - leave on. Extended periods - unplug, clean, leave door open.
  • Freezing: Do not quick-freeze large quantities. Allow hot food to cool first. Use proper packaging.
  • Drawers: Remove by pulling to full extension, lifting the front, and pulling out.
  • Shelves: Detach by lifting the rear and pulling out. Reassemble by sliding into guides.
  • Icemaker: Remove ice tray, pour water to the line, replace tray, rotate handle. Use Express Freeze for quick freeze.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Problem Possible Cause & Solution
Appliance is not cooling or has no power. Check home's fuse or circuit breaker. Reset GFCI if applicable. Ensure freezer control is ON. Unit may be in defrost cycle. Allow 24 hours for cooling after recent installation or relocation (must stand upright for 24 hours if moved on its side).
Cooling system runs too much. Modern appliances may run longer but use less energy. Allow 24 hours for cooling after power restoration. Avoid frequent/long door openings or adding large amounts of hot food. Ensure doors are fully closed. Appliance may run longer in hot locations. Clean condenser/back cover. Humid weather can increase moisture. Allow 30 minutes after defrost cycle. Ensure food is packaged correctly. Adjust temperature controls if too cold.
Frost or ice crystals form on frozen food (outside of package). Reduce frequency/duration of door openings. Ensure doors close properly. Allow 24 hours for cooling after installation. Ensure air vents are not blocked. Avoid hot locations. Cool hot food before adding. Ensure doors close correctly. Adjust temperature controls. Allow 30 minutes after defrost cycle. Package food correctly. Do not store high-water-content food for long periods.
Ice maker is not making enough ice. Reduce door openings. Ensure doors close properly. Set freezer temperature to recommended level (0°F / -18°C). Allow 24 hours after installation.
Ice has bad taste or odor. Discard old ice. Ensure food is wrapped properly. Clean freezer interior and ice storage bin.
