Flow Sense™ Duct Blockage Sensing System Indicator

The Flow Sense™ duct blockage sensing system detects and alerts you to restrictions in the installed household ductwork that reduce exhaust airflow through the dryer. If you see the alert: Clean or repair the ducts to remove the restrictions. Keep your ducts clean to help increase efficiency and reduce long drying times caused by blocked ducts.

Smart Diagnosis™

Should you experience any technical difficulty with your dryer, it has the capability of transmitting data via your telephone to the Customer Information Center. The call center agent records the data transmitted from your machine and uses it to analyze the issue, providing a fast and effective diagnosis.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Problem Causes and possible solutions
Error Code: from tE1 to tE7 Defective temperature sensor. Turn off the dryer and call a technician.
Display shows error code: PS The power cord is not properly connected. Check the power cord connection to the terminal block.
Flow Sense™ indicator shows four bars during the drying cycle, or the screen displays "d80" after drying. The exhaust duct is too long or has too many bends and obstructions. Install a shorter or less convoluted duct. Refer to the installation instructions for details.

Partial blockage of the duct due to lint or debris accumulation. The duct must be checked and cleaned immediately. The dryer can be used in this state, but drying time will be longer and energy consumption will increase.

The appliance has detected an obstruction in the dryer's external ventilation system. If the Flow Sense™ system detects restrictions in the exhaust duct, the indicator will remain on for two hours after the cycle ends. You can open the door or press the Power/Off button to turn off the screen. After cleaning, the Flow Sense™ system needs several consecutive cycles to confirm proper dryer operation and turn off the indicator. If the Flow Sense™ indicator remains on for more than five cycles after cleaning the ventilation system, contact a technician.

Ducts are severely obstructed (75% to 95%). (Error codes "d75", "d80", "d90" or "d95" are displayed for two hours only.) Do not use the dryer until the exhaust system has been cleaned or repaired. Using the dryer when the exhaust system is severely obstructed could cause a fire or other property damage. Check that a strong airflow is escaping from the dryer's external vent while the dryer is running. If the exhaust system is extremely long, have it repaired or rerouted.

Home exhaust system blocked. Keep the area around the dryer clean and free of clutter. Check if the vent cap is damaged or obstructed by lint. Check that the area around the vent cap is clear.

The lint filter is not cleaned properly. Verify that the lint filter indicator is on during the drying cycle. Ensure the lint filter is clean before each load. Hold the filter up to a light source to see if it is dirty or clogged. If it appears clogged, follow the cleaning instructions. Some loads produce a lot of lint, and it may be necessary to clean the filter during the cycle.
