Warranty Information

KitchenAid covers replacement parts and labor for defects in materials or workmanship for up to 10 years for certain components.

Starting Your Dryer:

  1. Add sorted laundry.
  2. Add fabric softener sheet if desired.
  3. Select a cycle using the Cycle Control Selector.
  4. Select a drying temperature (LOW, MEDIUM, HIGH) using the Temperature Selector.
  5. Close the dryer door.
  6. Push the START button.

Stopping and Restarting: Open the door or turn the Cycle Control Selector to OFF to stop. To restart, close the door, select a cycle if needed, and push START.

Cycles: Features automatic cycles (Regular/Heavy, Permanent Press) that sense dryness, Air Tumble (no heat), and Timed Dry (set by time).

Maintenance: Clean the lint screen before each load. Periodic interior cleaning and exhaust duct cleaning by a qualified person are recommended.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Brown Stains (rust)
  • dryer fabric softener
  • storing wet or damp clothes in dryer (rusting)
Greasy-Looking Spots
  • dryer fabric softener (See page 7 for correct use.)
  • undiluted washer fabric softener
  • drying soiled items
Lint
  • load not sorted correctly
  • overloading
  • overdrying
  • full lint screen
  • mistaken "pilling" for lint (Use lint roller, brush, or cellophane tape to remove lint from pilled area. Turn synthetics and blends inside out.)
Shrinking
  • paper or tissue in pockets
  • overdrying
  • fabric type
Slow Drying
  • load not sorted correctly
  • load type may require longer drying times
  • air movement slowed
  • dryer located in cold area
  • drying temperatures are lower than in older models
  • wash load ended with a cool rinse
  • low spin speed
  • large items rolled or balled
  • load too large
  • low voltage
  • vent too long (See Installation Instructions.)
Static Electricity
  • overdrying
  • fabric type (Use dryer fabric softener.)
Stiff, Harsh Fabrics
  • wash load was off-balance, fabrics were very wet
  • line drying (use dryer to prevent stiff fabrics)
Wrinkling
  • using incorrect cycle selection (See chart on page 12.)
  • overdrying
  • not removing clothes immediately after dryer stops tumbling
  • poor quality permanent press finish on fabrics
