Switching on your unit

  1. Connect the mains cable to the mains socket. The internal temperature of your unit is controlled by a thermostat with three settings: Mid, Cold, and Colder.
  2. After the unit has been on for 20 minutes, adjust the thermostat control dial to Mid. This is the recommended setting for normal room temperatures (16°C - 43°C).
  3. The unit may not operate correctly in extreme temperatures or if the door is opened frequently.
  4. Wait 24 hours before filling the unit with food to ensure it reaches the optimal cooling temperature.
  5. For temperature verification, use a special fridge/freezer thermometer. Place it in the freezer overnight; the correct temperature should be -18°C or lower.

Adjusting the temperature

The temperature is controlled by a thermostat. The recommended position is between Mid and Cold, adjustable based on the environment.

Noises inside the unit!

Unusual noises are usually normal and caused by refrigerant circulation. This is not a fault.

Preparations for freezing

  • Use quality food, freeze in small quantities.
  • Cool cooked food completely before freezing.
  • Consider how you will cook the food.
  • Do not freeze food in metal containers if microwaving directly from the freezer.
  • Use appropriate freezer bags, film, containers, or heavy-duty aluminium foil. Double wrap if unsure. Avoid foil for acidic foods.
  • Exclude as much air as possible from containers.
  • Freeze liquids in square blocks ("Preforming") for efficient space usage.
  • Label frozen foods with contents and date to organize and avoid exceeding storage times.
  • Keep a log of drawer contents.

Defrosting frozen food

  • Take food out, uncover, and let it defrost at room temperature.
  • Drain and discard any liquid.
  • Ensure no ice crystals remain, especially in meat.
  • Cook food immediately after defrosting.
  • Use microwave/oven defrost settings only if cooking immediately.
  • Never re-freeze defrosted food unless cooked first. Never re-freeze defrosted shellfish.
