Thank you for purchasing a Kenwood CKB200 built-in oven.

Important Safeguards & Recommendations

- Do not carry out cleaning or maintenance without disconnecting the appliance from the electrical supply. - Be aware that parts become very hot during and after use. - Ensure control knobs are in the OFF position after use. - Keep children away from the oven during use and do not allow unsupervised use by young children or infirm persons. - Never store inflammable materials inside the oven. - Always use oven gloves when removing hot shelves and trays. - Clean the oven regularly and remove spillages immediately. - Stand back when opening the oven door to allow steam and hot air to escape. - Do not hang towels or other items on the oven as this could be a fire hazard. - Ensure electrical cords of other appliances do not get trapped in the oven door. - This appliance is designed for domestic use only.

Before using the oven for the first time

- Read instructions carefully. - Check for damage after unpacking. - Remove all packing materials. - Do not attempt to modify the appliance. - Installation and electrical connections must be made by a qualified engineer.

Using the oven for the first time

- Turn the empty oven ON at maximum temperature for about two hours to eliminate grease and smell. - Let the oven cool down, switch off, and clean the inside with a damp cloth and neutral detergent.

Temperature Control

The temperature range is 50°C - 250°C.

How to use the oven

- General features: 7 different functions, thermostatically controlled heating elements. - Operating principles: Normal convection, forced convection, semi-forced convection, radiation, radiation and ventilation, ventilation (defrosting). - Temperature Knob (Fig. 2.1) - Function Selector Knob (Fig. 2.2): Select from various cooking functions. - Oven Light and Cooling Fan: Operates when knob is set to this position and on all selected functions. - Traditional Convection Cooking: Upper and lower elements on, heat diffused by natural convection. Preheat recommended. - Grilling: Infra-red element on, heat diffused by radiation. Use with door closed, temperature 50°C-200°C max. - Defrosting Frozen Foods: Oven fan only, use temperature knob in 'off' position. - Hot Air Cooking: Circular element and fan on, heat diffused by forced convection. No preheating necessary. - Ventilated Grill Cooking: Infra-red grill and fan on, heat diffused by radiation and fan. Preheat for 5 minutes. Always grill with door closed. - Maintaining Temperature After Cooking or Slow Cooking: Upper element and circular element in series, fan on. Temperature 50°-140°C. - Convection Cooking with Ventilation: Upper and lower elements and fan on. Heat diffused by forced convection. Temperature 50°C-250°C.

Cooking Advice

- Roasting: Maintain temperature between 180-200°C. - Cooking Different Dishes at the Same Time: Use function selector in position ◣. Ensure temperature difference is minimal and add dishes according to cooking time. - Grilling and "Au Gratin": Use grill+fan setting, preheat oven, close door. Do not grill for longer than 30 minutes at once. - Use of the Grill: Set function selector to ☁ and temperature knob to 50°C-200°C max. Preheat for 5 minutes.

Electronic Programmer

- Functions: 24-hour clock, timer, automatic and semi-automatic oven cooking. - Buttons: Timer, cooking period, end of cooking time, manual position, increase/decrease buttons. - Illuminated Symbols: AUTO (flashing/illuminated), automatic cooking, timer in operation, program error. - Electronic Clock: Set time of day. - Normal Cooking Without Programmer: Cancel flashing AUTO by pushing ⌛ button. - Electronic Timer: Buzzer, set for max 23 hours 59 minutes. - Automatic Oven Cooking: Set length, end time, temperature, and program. Oven switches on automatically. - Semi-Automatic Cooking: Automatically switches off oven after desired cooking period.

Cleaning and Maintenance

- General Advice: Disconnect from electrical supply before cleaning. Clean when cold. Avoid acidic substances. Clean after every use. - Enamelled Parts: Clean with sponge and soapy water. - Stainless Steel Surfaces with Anti-Fingerprint Treatment: Use only soapy/warm water. - Stainless Steel and Aluminium Parts and Silk-screen Printed Surfaces: Use appropriate product, dry thoroughly. Clean carefully to avoid scratching. - Inside of Oven: Clean after every use. Do not use steam cleaner. Do not store flammable material. - Wire Racks: Assemble using screws. - Replacing the Oven Light: Disconnect from power supply, let cool, unscrew cover, replace bulb (230-240V 50 Hz, 15W, E14). - Removing the Oven Door: Follow steps to detach and reattach.

Advice for the Installer

- Installation and maintenance by qualified technicians only. - Always unplug before maintenance. - Surrounding walls must be heat-resistant. - Do not lift by the door handle.

Installation

- Install by a qualified technician according to regulations. - Oven fits in standard units (width/depth 60 cm). - Compartment dimensions illustrated in Figures 5.1 and 5.2. - Oven must lay on supports and be secured with 4 screws. - Aeration channels must be provided as illustrated in Figures 5.3 and 5.4. - Special instructions for lower trim to ensure air circulation and door opening.

Electrical Section

- Connect to 220-240 volts 50 cycle AC supply via a 3-pin socket, earthed, protected by a 13 amp fuse. - Rewireable 13 amp 3 pin plug supplied, with 13amp fuse. Replace fuse only with 13 amp BS1362 rated fuse. - If mains plug is unsuitable or removed, dispose of safely. - Danger of electric shock if cut off plug inserted into socket. - How to wire a 13 amp plug. - Connection using fixed wiring: possible with heavy duty switch. Double pole switch no further than 2 metres away. - Wire colours: Green/Yellow (Earth), Blue (Neutral), Brown (Live). - Terminal connections: E (Earth), N (Neutral), L (Live). - If supply cord is damaged, must be replaced by a qualified technician.
