Basic Operation Summary

Initialization

To initialize the system, press the [POWER] key while turning the AC on. The display will show "INITIALIZE" and then return to standby. Errors like "ERR", "C ERR", "X ERR", or "M ERR" may indicate mechanism issues. For a microcomputer reset, unplug the power cord, then while holding the Power // key depressed, plug the power cord back in.

Test Modes

Various test modes are available for CD, Deck, and MD operations. These modes allow for specific adjustments and checks, such as tracking servo on/off, tape speed, bias current, and laser power. To enter test modes, specific keys are pressed while turning the AC on (e.g., [CD PLAY/PAUSE] + AC ON for CD Test Mode).

Adjustments

The manual details adjustments for the Cassette Deck (demagnetization, azimuth, tape speed, bias current) and CD player (laser power, laser current). These often involve using test discs, oscilloscopes, and voltmeters.

Continuous Recording/Playback

The system supports continuous recording (CREC MODE) and continuous playback (CPLAY MODE) for MD discs, with specific settings and limitations described.
