Troubleshooting and error codes

Category Issue/Message Solution
Battery Pack Unable to turn on the power when using the battery pack. Recharge the battery pack. Ensure terminals are clean. Use JVC battery packs.
Short usage time even after charging. Battery deterioration may occur. Replace with a new battery pack.
Unable to charge the battery pack. Ensure the battery is fully charged (lamp off). Check terminals. Use an original battery pack.
The remaining battery display is not correct. Check when AC adapter is connected. Avoid extreme temperatures or frequent charging.
Recording/snapshot cannot be performed. Check START/STOP switch and recording mode.
Recording stops automatically. Unit may stop automatically to protect the circuit due to temperature. Turn off, wait, then restart. Use an SD card if built-in memory has issues.
Card Cannot insert the SD card. Ensure correct insertion direction.
Unable to copy to SD card. Perform media settings. Format the card if it was used on other devices.
Memory Card Error! Turn off, remove/re-insert card. Clean terminals. Back up files and format the card.
Not Formatted Select OK and then YES to format.
Recording Failure Remove/re-insert SD card, clean terminals. Insert before powering on. Avoid impacts.
Screen/Image LCD monitor is difficult to see. Avoid bright areas.
A band or a ball of bright light appears on the LCD monitor. Change unit direction to avoid light source. Not a malfunction.
The recorded subject is too dark. Use backlight compensation, GAIN UP, NIGHT EYE, or adjust brightness.
Playback Sound or video is interrupted. Interruption at scene connection is normal.
Cannot find a recorded file. Cancel group display/date search. Check media settings. Use "PLAYBACK OTHER FILE" for damaged files.
No date/time display. Set "ON-SCREEN DISPLAY" and "DISPLAY ON TV" to ON.
