  • Powering On: Connect the AC adapter or a battery pack and set the POWER switch to ON.
  • Cassette Loading: Open the cassette cover, insert a MiniDV cassette, and close the cover.
  • Recording: Press the PLAY button to start playback. Press the STOP button to enter stop mode.
  • Playback: Press the PLAY button to start playback. Use REW and FF for fast forward/rewind.
  • Menu Settings: Use the MENU button to access VCR and Camera setup menus for various adjustments like white balance, shutter speed, audio levels, and time code settings.
  • Troubleshooting: Refer to the "Troubleshooting" section for indicators, error codes, and solutions to common problems.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Remedy: Leave the power on, and wait until the indication disappears.

Lights in the case of troubles with the drum servo during recording. Lights when the input sync signal is disturbed or the unit is subjected to physical shock. (Displayed only in record mode)Operation: During recording the mode becomes the stop mode.
During playback, playback of the disturbed video image continues.
Remedy: Also check the input sync signal. Signal is disturbed when the unit is subject to a violent shock.
In other cases, please consult the person in charge of professional video equipment at your nearest JVC-authorized service agent.

Remedy: Replace battery pack early.
When the battery capacity drops to an insufficient level.Operation: Stops automatically.
The camera may generate abnormal signals. This is not a malfunction.
