- Charging the Battery Pack: Ensure the camcorder is unplugged from the DC cord. Plug the AC Adapter/Charger into an AC outlet. Attach the battery pack, aligning the marks. The CHARGE indicator blinks during charging and stays lit when complete. Slide and lift off the battery. Unplug the AC cord.
- Using the Battery Pack: Tilt viewfinder up. Align battery pack with mount, push slightly, and slide down until it locks. To detach, tilt viewfinder up and slide battery up while pressing the release button. Ensure correct battery orientation to prevent malfunction.
- Using AC Power: Connect the AC Power Adapter/Charger to the camcorder and an AC outlet.
- Grip Adjustment: Separate Velcro. Pass hand through loop and grasp grip. Adjust for easy operation of buttons. Refasten Velcro.
- Viewfinder Adjustment: Set Power Switch to "A" or "M" while pressing Lock Button. Adjust Dioptre Control until viewfinder indications are clear.
- Shoulder Strap Attachment: Remove battery pack or DC cord. Thread strap through eyelets and buckle as illustrated.
- Tripod Mounting: Align tripod screw and camera stud with mounting socket and stud hole. Tighten screw. Ensure tripod legs are fully extended for stability.
- Date/Time Settings: Set Power Switch to "M" (with Lock Button pressed). Press MENU/BRIGHT. Select "DISPLAY MENU". Select "CLOCK ADJ.". Input day, month, year, hour, and minute. Return to exit.
- Loading/Unloading a Cassette: Power up the camcorder. Slide OPEN/EJECT to open cassette holder cover and then the holder. Insert/remove tape and press "PUSH HERE" to close. Wait for the holder to recede completely before closing the cover.
- Recording Mode Setting: Set Power Switch to "M" (with Lock Button pressed). Press MENU/BRIGHT. Select "CAMERA MENU". Select "REC MODE". Choose "SP" or "LP". Return to exit.
- Basic Recording: Ensure camcorder is powered, cassette loaded, and mode set. Set Power Switch to "A" or "M" (with Lock Button pressed). Shoot using LCD monitor or viewfinder. Press Recording Start/Stop Button to record/stop.
- Snapshot: Set Power Switch to "A" or "M" (with Lock Button pressed). Press MODE repeatedly to select snapshot mode. Press SNAPSHOT to record a still image.
- Zooming: Slide Power Zoom Lever towards "T" (In) or "W" (Out).
- Recording From The Middle Of A Tape: Play back to find the spot, engage Still Playback. Set Power Switch to "A" or "M" and start recording.
- Video Light: Set LIGHT OFF/AUTO/ON switch as required. AUTO turns light on when lighting is insufficient. ON keeps light on. OFF turns it off.
