Beginner's Guide

  • Shooting Tips:
    • Basic Way to Hold a Camcorder: Stand with feet shoulder-width apart, hold camcorder over head with right hand, adjust angle with left hand.
    • Squatting and Shooting at Eye Level: Kneel with one knee down, place right elbow on knee, hold camcorder, adjust angle.
    • Extending Your Hands to Shoot (High-Angle): Extend hand when subject is hidden.
    • Panning: Rotate body instead of arms for a wide view.

Getting Started

  • Verifying the Accessories: Check for AC Adapter, Battery Pack, AV Cable, USB Cable, CD-ROM, User Guide, Lens Cap.
  • Charging the Battery Pack: Align battery, connect AC adapter, plug in. Charging lamp blinks during charging.
  • Grip Adjustment: Flip, adjust, and fasten the grip belt.
  • Using the Hand Strap: Loop around wrist.
  • Inserting an SD Card: Turn off unit, open slot, insert card.
  • Clock Setting: Set date and time, select region.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Problem Solution
Battery not charging Recharge the battery pack. Wipe terminals if dirty. Use JVC battery packs. Replace if deteriorated.
Remaining battery power not displayed with AC adapter This is normal. Ensure correct operating temperature.
Recording stops automatically Set "SEAMLESS RECORDING" to "ON". Restart unit after overheating. Use SD card and set media settings.
Image stabilizer not working for still images Digital zoom is not available for still images. Adjust "ZOOM" setting.
Video quality issues Set "VIDEO QUALITY" to "UXP" or "XP".
Subject too dark/too light Use backlight compensation. Use "GAIN UP" or "NIGHT EYE". Adjust brightness.
Playback interrupted between scenes Cancel group display and date search. Change media settings.
Files protected, cannot delete Release protection using "Protecting Files" function.
Cannot dub to Blu-ray recorder Use AV cable for dubbing.
Cannot create DVD Ensure sufficient free space. Use Everio MediaBrowser.
Privacy Policy
