Familiarize yourself with the camera's front and rear views, identifying buttons and components like the shutter button, power button, lens, LCD monitor, and ports.
Attach the camera strap, open the battery/memory card cover, insert batteries and an optional memory card (formatting it before first use is recommended), and securely close the cover.
Turn on the camera, set it to capture mode, compose your shot using the LCD monitor (zoom in/out as needed), and press the shutter button halfway to focus and adjust exposure, then fully to capture the image.
Press the playback button to view images. Use the navigation buttons to cycle through them, zoom in for detail, and return to normal magnification.
In playback mode, select the image to erase, press the delete button, choose 'Single' deletion, then 'Execute'.
Connect the camera to your computer via USB. Turn on the camera, select 'PC' mode. On your computer, navigate to 'My Computer', find the 'removable disk' (camera), open the DCIM folder, and copy your image and video files.
