- **Making a Sample Camera Recording:** Connect power, insert cassette, unfold shoulder pad, open LCD monitor (optional), and set the "CAM/OFF/VIDEO" switch to "CAM" to enter record/pause mode. Ensure erase prevention tab is in place.
- **Dubbing:** Insert recorded tape, set to "VIDEO", display tape counter, search to desired position, press "PLAY" then "REC/PAUSE". For audio/video dubbing, press "DUBBING AUDIO/VIDEO" and "PLAY" simultaneously.
- **Recording TV Programs:** Connect audio/video cable from TV/VCR to camcorder "AUDIO" and "VIDEO" jacks, set "AV OUT/IN" to "IN", set "CAM/OFF/VIDEO" to "CAM", tune TV to desired channel, then press "REC/PAUSE".
- **Viewing on TV:** Connect camcorder to TV using audio/video cable or RF converter. Set "AV OUT/IN" to "OUT" for VM-8500LA. Ensure TV is on correct input and channel. Press "PLAY". Adjust tracking if needed.
- **Camcorder to VCR Dubbing:** Connect audio/video cable from camcorder to VCR "AUDIO IN" and "VIDEO IN". Play tape on camcorder and record on VCR.
Troubleshooting and error codes
