  • Recording a Single Image: Align the drive mode dial to (1-Image), then the power/function switch to ▶. Press the shutter release button to capture the image.
  • Previewing the Last Image: In REC mode, press PREVIEW to view the last recorded image without leaving REC mode. Pressing PREVIEW again returns to the REC mode screen.
  • Deleting the Last Image Recorded: In REC mode, press PREVIEW, then AE-L. Confirm deletion by selecting "Yes" and clicking the control button.
  • Using the Flash: Select flash mode by aligning the power/function switch and pressing the flash button to cycle through options (Auto, On, Off, Red-eye Reduction).

  • Using Macro Mode: Select "♥" focus mode. Focus adjustment starts automatically when the shutter release is pressed halfway.
  • Using Focus Lock: In Spot AF, Infinity, or Macro modes, press shutter release halfway to lock focus, then recompose and shoot.
  • Expanding Focus Area: Access MENU, select "Focus Expansion", choose "On" or "Off", and confirm.
  • Selecting Metering Mode: Align power/function switch, hold the metering button, and rotate selector dial to choose Multi-pattern, Center-weighted, or Spot metering.
  • Selecting White Balance: Align power/function switch, hold WB button, and rotate selector dial to select AWB, Daylight, Shade, Tungsten, Fluorescent, or MWB.
  • Adjusting White Balance Manually: Align power/function switch, hold WB, select "MWB", point at white object, click control button, and release WB.
  • Using AE Lock: Align power/function switch, point at subject, hold AE-L to fix exposure, then press shutter release to record.
  • Exposure Compensation: Select P, A, S, or Best Shot mode, then rock the control button left/right to adjust EV value.
  • Using the Histogram: Use DISP to display histogram on the monitor screen for checking exposure.
  • Using Digital Zoom: Access MENU, select "Digital Zoom", turn "On", then use the zoom controller to zoom in/out.
  • Attaching Conversion Lens/Close-up Lens/Filter: Use Conversion Lens Adaptor (LU-35A) for compatible lenses and filters. Follow specific instructions for each type.
  • Playback: Align power/function switch to PLAY mode. Rock control button left/right to scroll through images.

  • Using Slide Show Feature: Align power/function switch to PLAY mode, press MENU, select "Slide Show" to start. Press any button besides MENU to stop.
  • Resizing an Image: Align power/function switch to PLAY mode, display image, press MENU, select "Resize", choose "Yes", and click control button.
