Basic Scanner Operation Summary

Turning the Scanner ON/OFF:

• Press the power button on the operator panel for more than 2 seconds to turn the scanner ON or OFF.
• When the scanner is turned ON, the power indicator flashes during initialization and stays on when ready.
• When the scanner is turned OFF, the power indicator turns off.

Opening/Closing the ADF:

• Remove all documents from the ADF paper chute.
• Pull the ADF release tab to open the ADF.
• Push the center of the ADF to close it until you hear a click. Be careful not to catch your fingers.

Setting Up ADF Extensions:

• Pull out chute extension 1 and chute extension 2 to keep documents straight and feed them smoothly.

Setting Up the Stacker:

• Open the stacker towards you.
• Lift stacker extension 1 and stacker extension 2 to stack documents neatly.

Power Saving Mode:

• The scanner enters power saving mode if left idle for 15 minutes to reduce power consumption.
• To resume, load a document, press the scan/stop button, or scan from an application.
• The scanner may not enter power saving mode if a document remains in the path.

Basic Scanning Flow:

1. Turn on the scanner.
2. Load documents in the ADF (face-down).
3. Start the image scanning application.
4. Select a scanner driver.
5. Configure scan settings in the driver's setup window.
