Failure to Connect to a Server Using Its IP Address

  • Check if LAN cable is faulty.
The settings specified on the [IP Address] window are invalid. None
  • Verify IP address and subnet mask settings are correct on the [IP Address] window.
When using DHCP, the DHCP server does not operate normally. None
  • Check IP address, subnet mask, and default gateway settings.
  • Ensure DHCP server is functioning correctly and assigning valid IP addresses.
Another host or communication device is connected using the same IP address as the scanner.

  • Restart the server.
  • If duplicate IP address connection exists on LAN, pull out its LAN cable and restart the server.
Access is denied due to the establishment of a firewall between the server and the scanner.

  • Ping the DNS or WINS server to check functionality.
  • Request network administrator to check status if malfunctioning.
Failure to Access the Scanner Using Internet Explorer, the Admin Tool, the Central Admin Server, or User Editor
None Scanner not accessible.
  • Try solutions for "Failure to Connect to a Server Using Its IP Address".
The DNS or WINS server does not operate normally. Or the scanner name is not registered in the DNS or WINS server. None
  • Specify the IP address and check connection.
  • If Admin Tool connects via IP, register scanner's IP address in DNS or WINS server.
  • Check DNS or WINS server settings in scanner administrator settings.
A misconfigured firewall between the scanner and the computer is denying access. None
  • Check firewall settings to ensure it is not set to deny access.
The URL of the target scanner is not registered as a trusted site. None
  • Set the scanner URL as a trusted site in Internet Explorer.

A.2 Power Troubleshooting Scanner cannot be turned on.

Are the AC cable and AC adapter properly connected? None

  • Disconnect and reconnect AC cable, waiting 10 seconds after power off before turning back on.
  • Contact dealer if problem persists.
