  • Getting Ready to Take Pictures: Mount camera on tripod, insert batteries, mount/dismount lens, mount/dismount film holder.
  • LCD Information Panel: Check battery status and camera readiness.
  • Basic Procedures: Set mode switch (OFF, SINGLE, CONTINUE, MULTI), use shutter release, use remote-control shutter release, set shutter speed and aperture, take flash pictures.
  • Using the Film Holder: Load batteries, check LCD, open/close camera back, insert/extract inner frame, load film, position film start mark, set first frame, set film speed (ISO), print data, handle format masks.
  • Camera Movements: Use rise/fall, shifts, tilts, and swings to control perspective and sharpness.
  • Other Procedures: Adjust buzzer volume, shoot with mirror up, use sync test button, change focusing screen and bellows, use extension rails, change finder hood magnifier, take hand-held shots, use instant films, use large size lenses.
  • Camera Care: Clean camera, lens, and viewfinder; avoid solvents; check contacts; protect from moisture and dust.

Blinking The AE finder III is not used, but the Shutter Speed Selector has been set to A
Blinking When an instant film holder II is mounted, A always blinks. In this case, even if ▲ is blinking, the camera can be operated by setting the Mode Switch to MULTI.
goes out When an instant film holder II is mounted, ▲ goes out.
When the Collapsible Finder Hood is used and the Shutter Speed Selector has been set to A, unready warning is generated. Use the A mode when using AE finder III only.
Abnormal camera behavior (Fig. 13)
If the Shutter, Mirror, or Film Holder behaves abnormally during exposure, or when a communication trouble occurs, the back-up light and signs and marks of the LCD on the Camera blink, and the LCD (part in the abnormal behavior) on the Film Holder III N blinks also.
Further, the Electronic Warning Buzzer will sound 12 times, and all camera movements will stop.

More than 2 stops over (Fig. 14-A)

(1) EXP sign
If the aperture and shutter speed are set so that exposure will come within 2 stops over or under, EXP sign lights to indicate that the exposure is proper.
(2) Plus(+) or Minus(-) sign
If the aperture and shutter speed are set so that exposure will be more than 2 stops over or under, "+" or "-" sign lights to indicate the exposure is improper.
