GETTING TO KNOW YOUR UPRIGHT FREEZER

Before use

Read instructions carefully. For indoor and domestic use only.

INSTALLATION

Location

Place on a flat, firm, well-ventilated floor (16°C-32°C ambient). Avoid heat sources and direct sunlight. Ensure 10mm side, 30mm top, and 50mm rear clearance. Door can swing left or right. Do not cover the freezer.

Levelling

Use adjustable front feet to ensure the freezer is level. This affects door and seal alignment.

Cleaning before use

Wipe inside with a weak bicarbonate soda solution, rinse with warm water, and dry thoroughly. Clean exterior with wax polish.

Before plugging in

Check socket compatibility.

Before switching on!

DO NOT switch on for FOUR HOURS after moving to allow coolant to settle.

Before using your upright freezer

Turn on and wait 24 hours for the correct temperature before loading food. Follow food packaging storage instructions.

USING YOUR UPRIGHT FREEZER

Switching on

Green Power light appears on plug-in. Warning tone after two minutes. Use Up/Down buttons to set desired temperature (flashes, then steady). Recommended operating temp: -18°C.

Adjusting the temperature

Use Up and Down buttons. Affected by room temperature or frequent door openings.

Super freeze

Press 'Super freeze' button to freeze fresh food quickly. Internal temp drops to lowest, compressor runs for 26 hours. Cancel by pressing again.

Indicator Lights

  • Super freeze (green): Indicates Super freeze is active.
  • Freezer alarm (red): Indicates internal temp > -7°C.

Alarm for door

Alarm sounds if door left open for approx. 2 minutes. Stops after 10 minutes. Initial flashing of display/alarm is normal; press 'Super freeze' for 5 secs to reset.

High temperature alarm

Activates if temp > -10°C. Press 'Super freeze' for 3 secs to view highest temp during power failure. Alarm/display flashes until temp < -10°C.

Noises

Gurgling/whooshing (refrigerant circulation) and humming/purring (compressor) are normal.

Shopping & storing food

Buy chilled/frozen food last. Keep chilled/frozen foods together. Store food straight away. Thaw frozen food as needed (some foods don't need thawing).

Tips for keeping food perfect

Leave space for air circulation. Wrap food to prevent flavour transfer/drying. Cool pre-cooked food before freezing.

Preparations for freezing

Cool cooked food, chill before freezing if possible. Consider cooking method. Use freezer bags/containers/foil (not for acidic foods). Exclude air. Leave 'air space' for liquids. 'Preform' liquids in blocks for efficient storage.

Recommended storage periods

Refer to the table for specific food types (e.g., fruit, meats, fish, dairy).

REVERSING THE DOOR SWING

Detailed step-by-step instructions with diagrams for reversing the door swing. Ensure freezer is unplugged and empty. Requires assistance. Tools needed: screwdrivers, 8mm & 10mm sockets/spanners.

CLEANING

Inside

Use weak bicarbonate solution, rinse, dry. Wash baskets/shelves separately.

Outside

Use furniture polish. Close doors during cleaning. Vacuum condenser grille.

Cleaning tip: Defrost and clean when food stocks are low.

MAINTENANCE
