Installation Checklist

  • Doors: Handles secure, door seals completely.
  • Leveling: Freezer is level, slightly elevated in front. Cabinet is solid.
  • Electrical Power: House power on, freezer plugged in.
  • Final Checks: Shipping material removed, freezer temperature set.

Operating Your Freezer

Temperature is controlled by the thermostat (O=OFF, 3=coldest). A medium setting is suitable for general operation. Temperature varies with food load and door openings. Avoid frequent door openings and overfilling for energy efficiency.

Defrosting

Manually defrost when frost is over 1/4" thick. Power off, remove food and shelf, let frost melt or remove it, clean water, replace food, and power on. A bowl of hot water can speed up the process; do not use metal tools.

Cleaning

Clean the interior often. Power off, use a soft towel with mild cleanser, wipe with a dry cloth.

Turning off the unit

Avoid turning off if possible. If necessary, turn thermostat to OFF, unplug, clean, and store in a dry place with doors slightly open.
