Basic Operation of Fastrax II Dome Camera System
The Fastrax II system consists of a Keyboard Controller and Fastrax II dome cameras, forming a robust surveillance solution. It supports multiple controllers and cameras for extensive monitoring. The system facilitates remote control of various external switching devices like multiplexers and DVRs.
Key Features:
- Camera Capabilities: Built-in 18x optical zoom camera with True Night Shot, 240 Preset positions, 8 programmable Tours, 8 Auto Scan modes, and 4 Patterns.
- Control and Configuration: Up to 999 selectable camera addresses, RS-485/422 receiver driver, and programmable user preferences for alarms, presets, and titles.
- Installation: Surface mounting applications are supported, with the camera base needing attachment to a structural object. The dome camera is designed for ceiling or wall mounting.
- On-Screen Menu: Access and control camera settings, tours, patterns, and alarms through an intuitive on-screen menu utility via the keyboard controller.
- System Connectivity: Supports connection to multiplexers (up to 255) and DVRs (up to 99). Alarm inputs (up to 8) and alarm outputs (up to 4) are available.
Troubleshooting and error codes
| Problem | Possible Solution |

| No video | Verify that power is connected to all pieces of equipment in the system. Verify that the power switches are in the ON position. Check the video connections (see Figures 4). |
| Poor video quality | Check that the BNC connectors are inserted properly. Check the voltage level of the dome camera. Check that 8 pin cable is connected to the Keyboard. Check 8 pin cable for Keyboard is proprietary. (Cable for video is shielded.) Check termination of Video. |
| Dome cameras lose their positions. | Reset the cameras using the Dome configuration menus. Check that the dome cameras are inserted properly in the base. Check the voltage level of the dome camera. |
| Camera number does not match the multiplexer number. | Check the camera ID and insert the BNC cable into the proper input of the multiplexer. |
| Picture is torn when switching | Check Line Lock setting and adjust phase of L/L (see page 25). |
