Quick Setup Guide

1. Initial Setup:

  • Unpack the printer and confirm all items are present.
  • Read the 'Read This First' section for important ink handling precautions.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions (page 1, step 3) to select your setup method (Smart Device or USB).

2. Ink Installation (if 'No' selected in step 1):

  • Ensure ink tank colors match ink bottle colors.
  • Carefully remove the ink bottle cap while keeping the bottle upright.
  • Insert the ink bottle straight into the correct port until it clicks, filling the tank to the upper line.
  • Wait for the ink to flow automatically. Remove the bottle once full.
  • If ink remains, cap the bottle and store upright.

3. Printer Charging & Setup Completion:

  • Confirm tanks are filled, then hold the button (page 4, step 11) for 5 seconds to start ink charging (approx. 7 minutes).
  • Load A4 plain paper (page 4, step 12).
  • Turn off the printer (page 4, step 13).
  • Turn on the printer while holding down the buttons (page 4, step 14).
  • Print a nozzle check pattern (page 4, step 15).
  • Run print head cleaning if necessary (page 5, step 16).
  • Visit the provided website (page 5, step 17) to install software and configure the network.

Note:

  • Smart Panel app can be used for setup even with a computer.
  • Follow on-screen prompts and check indicator lights for status.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Indicator Status Meaning Action
Power Button Light Off Printer is off. Press the button to turn on.
Flashing Printer is starting up or powering down. Wait for the light to become solid.
On (Solid) Printer is on and ready. -
Wi-Fi Button Light Off Wi-Fi is off. Press the button to turn on.
Flashing Connecting to a network or Wi-Fi Direct. Wait for the light to become solid.
On (Solid) Wi-Fi is connected. -
Error Light (often red) Flashing Various errors: Paper jam, ink pad issue, low ink, etc. Refer to the online User's Guide for specific error codes and solutions.
Ink Lights Flashing Ink is low or empty. Refill the corresponding ink tank.
On (Solid) Ink is ready. -
