Using Your Appliance

  • Always take care when using the appliance.

Before Use

  • While operating the machine always wear substantial footwear and long trousers.

  • Before using, always visually inspect to see that the blade, blade bolt and the blade assembly are not worn or damaged.

After Use

  • Store in a dry, well ventilated place out of the reach of children.

Additional Safety Instructions for Lawn Mowers

  • Do not transport the machine while the power source is running.
  • Firmly grip handle with both hands when operating the lawn mower.
  • Keep hands and feet away from cutting area.
  • Keep blades sharp.
  • Use extreme caution when reversing or pulling the lawn mower towards you.
  • Do not put hands or feet near or under the lawn mower.
  • Clear the area where the lawn mower is to be used of objects such as rocks, sticks, wire, toys, bones etc.
  • Do not mow on wet grass or excessively steep slopes.

Starting Mower

  • Ensure self drive is disengaged before starting the mower.
  • Slide battery packs into the battery port until an audible click is heard.
  • Insert safety key into the ON-OFF switch box.
  • Push and hold the ON-OFF button, then pull the bail handle to the main handle.
  • Release the bail bar to turn the mower OFF.

Variable Speed Self Drive System

  • Hold blade bail handle in place with one hand.
  • Pull the self speed lever toward the main handle with your other hand.
  • To turn off self drive, release the speed lever.

Removing and Installing Blade

  • Cut a piece of 2" x 4" wood to keep blade from turning.
  • Unscrew the blade bolt counterclockwise.
  • Remove blade bolt spring plate and blade.
  • Install sharpened or new blade on shoulder of the blade adapter.
  • Install blade bolt and securely tighten.

Blade Sharpening

  • Make sure blade remains balanced.
  • Sharpen blade at the original cutting angle.

Blade Balancing

  • Check balance of the blade by placing center hole in the blade over a nail or round screwdriver.

Lubrication

Your power tool requires no additional lubrication.

Cleaning

  • Blow dirt and dust out of the main housing with dry air.
  • Never use solvents or other harsh chemicals for cleaning.
  • Use a cloth dampened only with water and mild soap.
