Operating Your Mower

Starting Mower: Ensure safety key and battery packs are installed. Lift battery port cover, insert fully charged battery packs, close cover. Insert safety key, pull bail handle to main handle, then press power button. Release power button once mower starts, but continue holding bail handle.

Stopping Mower: Release bail handle.

Self Drive (DCMWSP156 only): Press self-drive lever towards main handle to engage; release to disengage.

Speed Adjustment (DCMWSP156 only): Rotate speed adjustment dial towards rabbit icon for faster speed, turtle icon for slower speed.

Cutting Modes: Mulching, Side Discharge, or Bagging. Ensure appropriate components are installed for each mode.

Adjusting Cut Height: Pull cut height adjustment lever out, move to desired height, and push back into locking notch.

Storage: Retract handles as shown. Store in a dry, well-ventilated place.

Troubleshooting and error codes

PROBLEM SOLUTION
Mower doesn’t run when bail handle is activated Check safety key and power button. Release bail handle, turn mower off, remove safety key and battery packs. Check that blades turn freely. Check battery port for debris. Ensure batteries are fully charged.
Blade motor stops while mowing Release bail handle, turn mower off, remove safety key and battery packs. Check blades turn freely. Raise cutting height. Check battery port for debris. Ensure batteries are fully charged. Avoid overloading mower. Cool down batteries and mower if overheat indicator is illuminated.
The single touch handle 1 will not lock into the storage position Ensure storage latches pop outward. Ensure main handle fully engages handle windows.
Self drive motor stops while working Shut down power. Clean self-drive motor housing. Check wheels are spinning freely.
Mower runs but cutting performance is unsatisfactory, or does not cut entire lawn Ensure batteries are fully charged. Check blades for sharpness and deck/discharge chute for clogging. Raise cutting height. Check blade sharpening indicator.
Mower is too hard to push Release bail handle, remove safety key and battery packs. Check cutting height. Check wheels for free rotation.
Mower is abnormally noisy and vibrates Allow batteries and mower to cool down. Restart mower. Check blade for damage and replace if necessary. If no damage, disassemble blade assembly, clean, and reassemble.
Mower not picking up clippings with bag Chute clogged. Raise cutting height. Empty bag more often.
