Troubleshooting and error codes

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Jam/Alignment Problems The top and side margins are incorrect. Ensure that the paper is loaded correctly and that the paper guides are set properly.
Jam/Alignment Problems Color registration is out of alignment. Print the Color Registration Chart and adjust the settings as necessary.
Jam/Alignment Problems Images are skewed. Check the paper path for obstructions and ensure the paper is loaded correctly.
Jam/Alignment Problems Tray1/Optional 550-Sheet Feeder Misfeed Jam. Check for obstructions in the paper tray and paper path. Ensure the paper is loaded correctly and the guides are set properly.
Jam/Alignment Problems MPF Misfeed Jam. Ensure the paper is loaded correctly in the MPF and that the guides are set properly. Remove any obstructions.
Jam/Alignment Problems Regi Jam (Exit Sensor On JAM). Check the paper path for obstructions, especially near the exit sensor.
Jam/Alignment Problems Exit Jam (Exit Sensor Off JAM) Check the paper path for obstructions near the exit. Ensure the paper is exiting the printer smoothly.
Jam/Alignment Problems Tray1/Optional 550-Sheet Feeder Multi-feed Jam Ensure only one sheet of paper is loaded in the tray. Check for any damage to the paper. Adjust paper guides.
Jam/Alignment Problems MPF Multi-feed Jam. Ensure only one sheet of paper is loaded in the MPF. Check for any damage to the paper. Adjust guides.
Noise Unusual noises coming from the printer. Check for any foreign objects inside the printer. Ensure the printer is on a level surface. If the noise persists, contact support.
