Upper Cover Removal

  1. Remove winding lever lid.
  2. Remove winding lever setscrew, washer, W levers, and spring hook.
  3. Remove upper cover press and washer.
  4. Remove release button.
  5. Remove ASA ring assembly.
  6. Remove rewinding knob assembly and shutter dial.
  7. Remove upper cover by taking off decorative ring, setscrews, and front cover screws.

Lower Cover Removal

  1. Remove three screws.

Removing Leather

  1. Peel off right and left sides of the leather.

Front Cover

  1. Remove two screws and pull downward.

Reinforcement Plate

  1. Remove reinforcement plate after removing its four setscrews.

Front Plate Removal

  1. Remove front plate after removing its three setscrews.

Mirror Box Removal

  1. Remove 11 leads.
  2. Remove shutter substrate.
  3. Remove ASA base plate.
  4. Remove four screws holding the amp.
  5. Remove mirror box.

Shutter Removal

  1. Remove ME driving lever, etc.
  2. Remove three shutter setscrews and pull shutter upward.

Counter Base Plate Removal

  1. Remove C lever spring.
  2. Remove three screws and counter indicator.
  3. Remove counter G-1.

W Base Plate Assembly Removal

  1. Remove W shaft B setscrew and MD capring ass'y.
  2. Remove SM set lever fixer setscrews, fixer, and lever.
  3. Remove anti-rewind proof gear ass'y.
  4. Remove W shaft metal lower.
  5. Remove W stopper and anti-rewind proof lever.
  6. Remove ME W lever, W base plate post, and ME driving lever.

Amp Replacement Procedure

  1. Remove leads.
  2. Remove shutter substrate.
  3. Remove LED holder setscrew.
  4. Remove correction lock lever and soldering.
  5. Remove ASA base plate.
  6. Remove shoe terminal screws.
  7. Remove amp setscrews.
  8. Remove amp.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Failure Item Cause
Shutter does not actuate C7 100µF soldering defect.
TF SW adjustment error.
Ground screw loose.
R10 soldering defect.
R12 soldering defect.
Thru-hole of FPC does not connected (15 R12 line).
TR-4 (M6) Soldering defect.
TR-5 (L7) Soldering defect.
IC2 Pin #38 or #39 soldering (no oscillation) defect.
White lead is solder-bridged on AVR riveting section. (Leak status of about 5 mA).
Jumper lead (green) on ASA base plate is disconnected.
Xtal leg floating or shorting.
R Mg SP removal (mechanical).
AVR yellow lead is shorted to the body (Leak of about 23 mA).
R Mg lead removal.
IC1 Pins 17 and 18 solder bridge.
SP strikes on SPD-2 anode and acts as body ground. (Leak of about 25 mA).
Lever (QRL-4) touches the cord retaining plate of QR base plate.
The W obstruction lever malfunctions and TF SW cannot be switched.
Play in rivetted contact plates in battery case.
Pin of ASA base plate assembly is high and touches the lever.
Red lead removed from the battery case.
R7 (120 ΚΩ) is floating.
ASA contact plate is bent outside and touches the release circuit.
The soldering section of B amp red-pink lead (B AMP is located on IC2) is shortcircuited. (Latch of about 1 sec.)
IC2 pins 32 and 33 Solder bridge

Shutter does not actuate due to high brightness.
Release SW continuity failure.
Release Mg difective.
Shutter LED Instability IC1 pins 4 to 8 improper soldering.
C1 improper soldering.

IC2 pins 27 and 28 solder bridge

VR-3 improper soldering
AVR contact piece continuity defective (VF - VDD offset voltage about 0.9V)
AVR yellow lead removal
ASA base plate assembly pin (VA) improper soldering
ASA contact piece floating
All LEDs do not light up. LED common circuit soldering defective
Heat contact bonding section improper soldering.
IC2 pins 4 to 19 improper soldering.
LEDs remain lit. The solder of the combination connector strikes on ASA base plate and acts as ground.
TR-1 failure (latch status)
The front plate check switch remains turned ON.
LEDs remain lit at W lever lock EL lock lever strikes on EL substrate due to excessive solder.
B remains lit. AVR white lead removal.
VR-3 contact failure.
SHUTTER remains open at auto C4 leg strikes on the upper cover.
C1 leg strikes on the upper cover.
Does not regulate the FLASH out put VR-4 improper soldering
VR-4 defective
SPD-2 solder protuberance is high and touches the body.
SPD-2 lead (gray) is shorted to lead press. (Vth = about 2.2V).
SPD-2 improper soldering.
SPD mirror tension angle defective.
IC1 pin 20 improper soldering.
IC1 pin 21 improper soldering.
TR-3 defective (Shutter sticks close).
SPD-2 shortcircuit between anode and kathode.
SPD-2 polarity inversion.
IC2 pin 28 improper soldering.
Auto exposure can not be adjusted VR-3 defective.
The Vr value is not within allowance range.
Shutter remains open TR-3 defective (Shortcircuit between E and B).
High shutter speed sticks close Trigger SW ground defective.
Shutter sticks close TR-3 improper soldering.
TR-3 defective,
ST-Mg disconnection or lead (black) removal.
The absorption state of the shutter magnet iron piece is bad.
All shutter speed settings are slow B amp 10ΚΩ damage.
B amp M6 plated solder.
1/1000 over or under Trigger switch does not turn off.
Incorrect shutter curtain speed Trigger switch is re-adjusted.
Shutter curtain speed is re-adjusted. (5.7~6.0 ms)
Time lag of X defective Synchro SW is re-adjusted.
Contact efficiency of X defective Synchro SW is re-adjusted.
Self LED does not light up. Self LED anode side body ground.
Combination connector contact piece continuity defective 19
TR-2 defective.
LED leg removal.
AE remains work Combination connector 14 contact piece is shorted to body.
AE does not work. Combination connector contact piece continuity defective.
