PRELIMINARY PREPARATIONS:

  1. Unfold and secure the grip.
  2. Load batteries into the grip.
  3. Turn on the main switch and check batteries.
  4. Set the eyepiece shutter to OPEN.
  5. Adjust the camera to your eyesight.
  6. Set the R/RL switch to "R".
  7. Set filming controls to upward positions.
  8. Load a film cartridge.
  9. Press the shutter release halfway to check exposure and sound.
  10. Press the shutter release fully for filming.
  11. Turn the main switch OFF after filming.

BASIC OPERATION:

  • Set recording controls to upward positions for sound.
  • Connect microphone and earphone.
  • Check the CCA filter switch position.
  • Zoom to telephoto and focus.
  • Compose the picture.

FILMING SPEEDS: Dial positions for 9, 18, 24 fps, and slow motion. Note that 9 fps is for silent filming only. 24 fps offers a slight slow-motion effect and better quality. 9 fps speeds up movement and allows filming in lower light.

SHUTTER OPENING ANGLE: Variable from 0° to 220°. 150° for regular filming, 220° for XL filming in dim light. Fading is achieved by closing the shutter blades.
