  • Powering On/Off: Press the power button to turn the camera on. Press it again to turn it off. The camera may automatically power off after a period of inactivity.
  • Handling: Open the LCD panel by pulling it away from the camera and adjust its angle. Be careful not to damage the hinge or touch the monitor when moving it.
  • Setting Date/Time & Language: Access the Setup menu via the MENU button to set the date and time, and choose the display language.
  • Formatting Memory Card: Use the Format utility in the Setup menu to format SD/SDHC cards before first use. Ensure the card is not write-protected to format it.
  • Capturing: In Capture Mode, press the shutter button to take still images or record video clips. Use the zoom function to enlarge subjects.
  • Playback: Access Playback Mode to review recorded videos and images. Various options like slideshow and deletion are available.
  • File Transfer: Connect the camera to a computer via USB to download or delete files.

Troubleshooting and error codes

The power does not come on. The batteries are not loaded or loaded incorrectly. Load the batteries correctly.
The batteries are exhausted. Replace with a new set of batteries.
The batteries or video camera feels warm. Long period of continuous use of the video camera.
Even if I press the shutter button, the digital video does not shoot. The SD/SDHC memory card does not have any free capacity. Insert a new SD/SDHC memory card, or delete unwanted files.
The video camera is not in shooting mode. Set the video camera to shooting mode.
The SD/SDHC memory card is write-protected. Remove the write-protection.
The video camera cannot focus. The lens is dirty. Wipe clean with a soft, dry cloth or lens paper.
The distance to the subject is smaller than the effective range. Place your subject within the effective focus range.
Files cannot be deleted. The file is protected. Cancel protection.
The SD/SDHC memory card is write-protected. Remove the write-protection.
Cannot download images. The free space on the hard disk in your computer may be insufficient. Check whether the hard disk has a space for running Windows, and if the drive for loading image files has a capacity at least that of the memory card inserted in the video camera.
