Getting Started:

  1. Install Batteries and Memory Card: Open the battery cover, insert 3 AAA batteries according to polarity, and insert the memory card. Close the cover. Select battery type (1 for alkaline, 2 for rechargeable) if prompted by low voltage indication.
  2. Turn On/Off: Press the ON/OFF button until the operation LED lights up to turn the camera on. Press and hold the ON/OFF button for 2 seconds to turn it off. The camera has an auto power-off feature to save battery.
  3. Taking Pictures: Press the shutter button. A beep indicates the snapshot is finished.
  4. Recording Video: Enter the menu, select video mode, confirm, and press the shutter button to start. Press again to stop.
  5. Using Digital Zoom: In REC mode, press UP to zoom in and DOWN to zoom out.
  6. Playback: Press the Playback button to view pictures and videos. Use UP/DOWN and zoom controls to navigate.
  7. Downloading Files: Connect the camera to a computer via USB. The camera will be recognized as a removable disk for direct copying of files.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Problem Possible Cause & Solution
Camera will not turn on 1. Battery not properly installed: Remove and reinstall batteries.
2. Insufficient battery voltage: Use new batteries; do not use old or mixed batteries. Not recommended to use rechargeable batteries with lower voltage.
Flash will not fire 1. Flash set to OFF: Set flash to Auto or On.
2. Flash not fully charged: Wait for the operation LED to stop blinking.
3. Low battery level: Change batteries.
Image is blurred / out of focus 1. Subject out of focal range: Ensure at least 1.5m (5ft) distance between lens and subject.
2. Camera moved: Hold camera steady while taking pictures; hold steady until flashes have fired twice.
Subject in recorded image is too dark Insufficient light: Set flash on or adjust exposure compensation to positive (+).
Flickering on LCD screen or recorded image Incorrect frequency setting: Check anti-flicker frequency (50Hz or 60Hz) under fluorescent light.
Picture download problem 1. Ensure USB mode is set to MSDC in picture preview mode before connecting.
2. Flash disk does not display images: The camera may load two removable flash drives. Reassign drive names if they coincide with existing ones in the network.
